TREP, the TRansposable Elements Platform

Superfamily Ngaro                   RYN

Full classification: Retrotransposon, LTR, Ngaro

Ngaro elements are Class 1 transposons.

They are relatively rare. Were found in fungi and some other eukaryotes, but not in animals and plants. Upon insertion, they create a 0 bp Target site duplication (TSD).
