TREP, the TRansposable Elements Platform

Superfamily unknown                   DTX

Full classification: DNA-transposon, TIR, unknown

unknown elements are Class 2 transposons.

They are a collection of DNA transposons with terminal inverted repeats. They can not be assigned to a superfamily becaise they contain either no CDS at all or encode proteins belonging that can not be assigned to a known superfamily. Upon insertion, they create a variable bp Target site duplication (TSD).
